In-company support from your local Business Development Manager

We provide a directly employed resource of seven Business Development Managers (BDMs) and three Business Development Executives (BDEs) located throughout the UK and worldwide, who provide local help and support to organisations and individuals interested in professional development and membership of the Institution.

The local BDMs are a strong and settled team, with 40 years collective experience of helping engineers towards full membership and achievement of professional registration as Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers and Engineering Technicians.

In particular, the local BDMs build lasting relationships with industry and academia, providing direct support to groups of potential applicants in companies, supporting graduates on company schemes, inspiring university undergraduates to embrace their professional institution, and working with FE colleges and training providers to help develop their apprentices towards EngTech status.

In addition to our work within industry and academia, the Institution has linked up with each of the three armed services and developed a stream-lined application process for members of the armed services to become members of the Institution and gain professional registration.

BDMs provide the link to the Institution, and are an invaluable and professional local resource for organisations and individuals who wish to explore professional registration. Consulting a local BDM is free and without obligation.
