Becoming an Associate Associate Membership is for graduates with a suitable degree in Engineering.
QualificationsIf you have any of the following qualifications, you can become an Associate Member: - IMechE-accredited degree
- UK Engineering degree
- UK Maths, Physics or other relevant science degree
- Engineering Council graduate diploma
- Overseas Engineering degree which meets IMechE requirements
- Open University degree of acceptable profile

Associate Members are entitled to use the designation AMIMechE after their name, which shows commitment to their career. Associates can access a range of IMechE services – for example, use of the Information and Library Service, delivery of PE magazine every two weeks, access to the Business Centre at One Birdcage Walk, and much more.
