Chartered or Incorporated engineer
When you apply to become a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, your application is coupled with professional registration as a Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician. If you are not currently registered as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, you should apply as a New Registrant.
Existing Chartered and Incorporated Engineers who are registered with the Engineering Council can apply for membership via a simplified route.
