Help and Advice - Further Learning Seminars
We are providing free Further Learning Seminars to offer guidance on the academic requirements for IEng and CEng, explaining how to undertake further learning; focusing on developing plans, when to take action and how to record knowledge and understanding. These seminars are suitable for: mentors, industry liaison officers, academic liaison officers (anyone that offers advice on further learning requirements), Postgraduate Course Leaders and those who are actually required to complete further learning to reach the required academic benchmarks for corporate registration. The 2010 seminar dates will be available in April 2010. To request a company further learning workshop, please email furtherlearning@imeche.org.
Individual Further Learning Formats
The following Sample plan demonstrates a typical Individual Further Learning Plan, incorporating a selection of MSc University modules combined with work-based learning activities and courses. Individual Further Learning plans should focus on broader and deeper learning to fulfil the Engineering Council’s requirements for registration. The FL Plan can be downloaded from the Further Learning Screen.
The following information pack lists previously approved ways of meeting the FL requirement if you are wishing to develop your own format. Please see the sample plan above for the level of detail expected in a submission.
Scholarships and Funding
IMechE annually supports the educational and development needs of today's students, graduates and members. Prizes and Awards range from undergraduate to postgraduate awards, which include scholarships to encourage developing engineers to study mechanical engineering, to the prestigious awards to recognise the achievements of eminent mechanical engineers.
Company Schemes
