An IMechE-accredited degree is the first step on the ladder to becoming a Member of IMechE and/or a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng). Degrees are accredited as meeting “part” or “all” of the academic requirements.
Prospective Students
The Institution accredits many degrees in the UK and a number of degrees in universities outside the UK. If you are planning to go to university this September and are unsure whether your course is accredited, please check our current Accredited Degree List
To find out more about the different specialised engineering divisions and to help you choose which course to study, please read our information on Education Choices. We invite students, teachers, careers offices and parents to browse through this section to ensure they are well informed when advising young people about this exciting profession.
Scholarships and Funding: IMechE annually supports the educational and development needs of today's students, graduates and members. Prizes and Awards range from Undergraduate Awards, which include scholarships to encourage developing engineers to study mechanical engineering, to the prestigious awards to recognise the achievements of eminent mechanical engineers.
