Interviewers and Assessors

Many IMechE members are involved in assessing and interviewing new Members.   We require new Members to assist with the assessment of potential new members.   Please see the guidance notes for assessors for more information about the format of Professional Review Interviews.

On this form you can apply to be an:

Interviewer
We interview throughout the UK and overseas, and applicants must be able to commit to 2 full days per year

OR

Industrial Advisor
We need specialists in all Mechanical Engineering related Industries. If you would like to take part, please submit a CV with your completed application form.

Assessor Training Workshops in 2008

The dates and locations of the 2008 training sessions for Interview Consultants, Professional Review Interviewers and Industrial Advisors are given in the above link.

These sessions are suitable for both new and experienced assessors. Assessors are required to attend training every two years as part of our EC(UK) licence. If you have not attended a training session since 2006 you should make every effort to attend one this year.

Technical Report Option Mentors and Assessors Wanted!

With the introduction of UK-SPEC in 2004, the routes to membership and registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer have become more flexible. As a result of this the membership department is receiving an increasing number of applications from potential members who need to write a technical report as part of their application. Due to this increase in numbers we are seeking experienced Chartered or Incorporated Engineers to mentor and assess these applicants. If you are interested in undertaking one of these roles or would like more information please contact Becky Carey on 020 7973 1305 or email b_carey@imeche.org. In general we are looking for both academic and industry specialists who are able to assess applicants in a specific industry and have had some experience of reviewing academic or technical reports.
