New Registrants

Here you’ll find all the information you need on how to apply for Member or Fellow, and Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer registration.

Applicants should refer to these competence statements and examples before compiling their application, or attending an interview.

The application form can be completed online or download a printable copy of the form (Incorporated Engineer form and Chartered Engineer form)This needs to be accompanied by the following documents:

Sponsor forms completed by two individuals – copies of the sponsor form and guidance notes on how to complete them are available.
Three copies of the Development Action Plan – a template can be found in the guidance notes.
Three copies of the Professional Review Report – information on what to include and how to write it can be found in the guidance notes.
Authenticated copies of degree certificates. See the guidance notes for more information on this and acceptable qualifications. Information about acceptable qualifications can be found in the qualification section of our website.

MPDS applicants can submit different paperwork in lieu of a Professional Review Report. Please see the MPDS area of the website for more information.

Your application will be judged against the five UK-SPEC competences.
