Corporate Membership


Corporate Membership of IMechE can be achieved by individuals who meet the educational and professional requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Engineering Technician in Mechanical Engineering.

Members of IMechE are eligible for Registration as an IEng or a CEng or and EngTech with the Engineering Council once they have satisfied specific criteria.

Benefits of corporate membership

Members are entitled to use the letters CEng MIMechE, IEng MIMechE or EngTech MIMechE (as applicable) after their name, and are also eligible to apply for the European qualification EurIng (CEng only).

Members can access a range of IMechE services – for example, use of the Information and Library Service, delivery of PE magazine every two weeks, access to the Business Centre at One Birdcage Walk, and much more. For a full range of services please view the member guide.

How to apply

Registrants of other Institutions

If you are already a CEng or IEng with another UK Engineering Institution or a full member of Engineers Ireland, Engineers Australia or HKIE, apply as an Existing Registrant.

If you are an existing EngTech registrant, apply as an existing EngTech registrant.
