Thomas Hawksley Lectures
Thomas Hawksley FRS was a famous 19th century (1807 – 1893) engineer who
spanned a variety of disciplines with distinction. He served as
President of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the
Institution of Civil Engineers.
His son initiated these lectures in 1913 in memory of his father.
Earlier lectures were published in the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical
Engineers.
