Public Affairs

Why Public Affairs?

The aim of the Public Affairs team is to ensure that mechanical engineering remains paramount in the minds of policy makers. To achieve this we encourage those within the Government, Westminster and Whitehall to develop progressive measures to recognise the importance of solutions provided by mechanical engineering and mechanical engineers.

Aims of the Public Affairs programme

  • Raise awareness of the importance of mechanical engineering
  • Inform and influence public debate on current issues relevant to engineers
  • Utilise the expert knowledge in the Institution
  • Increase the Institution's public profile
