The Safety and Reliability Group (SRG) is here to promote the development of safety and reliability and to educate engineers in its application in the process, manufacturing, utility and public service industries. The Group works across all industry sectors covering the topics of Safety Regulations, Reliability & Performance, Assessment & Maintenance as well as Human Factors.

Call for papers: engineering competence
The Safety and Reliability Group are organising a one day seminar entitled ‘Managing risk. Delivering engineering guidance for safety and reliability’on 5 February 2013 and are inviting contributions to support the programme. Find out more.

Hazards Forum
The Hazards Forum was established in 1989 by the four major engineering institutions, the Institutions of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineers. to provide an interdisciplinary focus for the study of disasters and the promulgation of lessons learned from them.
Since then the Forum has broadened its remit to inform the public understanding of risk, while continuing to develop its work on the assessment of hazardous events, dissemination of lessons learned and the promotion of risk reduction strategies.
