Overview

The Process Industries Division has a total annual budget allocation of £2,200 for distribution to recognise the achievements of engineers in the Division's field of expertise.  £1,000 of this total is allocated to the following three prizes, which one or more can be chosen up to the £1,000 budget allocation. (N.B. no prize should be less than £100).

• The Moss Prize (Serial 221)
• Filtration Prize (Serial 304)
• Ludwig Mond Prize (Serial 309)

The remaining £1,200 is allocated to the following:

• Thomas Lowe Gray Prize (Serial 213) - £250
• Viscount Weir Prize (Serial 226) - £150
• IMechE Bulk Materials Handling Award for Innovation (Serial 345) - £250 + £50 for Certificate
• IMechE Johnson Matthey Prizes (serial 287) - £500

The IMechE Bulk Materials Handling Committee offers the IMechE Bulk Solids Handling Award sponsored by Portasilo.

The IMechE's Process Industries Division's Food Engineering Committee offers the "Food Engineer of the Year Award 2012", sponsored by the KapaK Foods.

The IMechE Offshore Engineering Committee is launching the 'Offshore Renewable Energy Competition', sponsored by Xodus Group.

Nominations are also made to the Trustee Board Awards Committee for the IMechE's Major Prizes and Awards by 31 March each year:

• IMechE Equality and Diversity Award
• IMechE Award for Risk Reduction in Mechanical Engineering
• George Stephenson Gold Medal
• James Watt International Gold Medal (Awarded biennially - next award 2012)
