Terms of Reference

To determine policies on all aspects of the application of fluid machinery, where the Institution may wish to hold a view and to advise Government and other external organisations.

To promote and organise conferences, seminars, workshops, training courses, lectures and discussion meetings on all facets of fluid machinery and associated technology, including the following equipment:

• Pumps, compressors, agitators and blowers, power recovery expanders and turbines, water turbines and wind/wave/current power machinery
• To represent the Institution at discussions of other Learned Societies considering related aspects of fluid machinery
• To recommend prize awards for the Institution’s events papers relating to fluid machinery
