Meeting the UK 2020 green energy targets: How can biofuels contribute?

Date: 22 May 2012
Event Type: 1 day Seminar
Location: London

The European demand for biofuels will more than double in the next few years as the EU moves to meet its 2020 obligations under the Renewable Energy Directive.

Our KEYNOTE speaker Mr Tim Yeo MP, Energy and Climate Change Committee Chairman will lead a discussion on how the farmers, refineries, process technology providers, automotive industry and government can work together towards the renewable transport fuel obligation.

The Uk Bioenergy Strategy set out an important framework for ensuring biomass delivers benefits to business and consumers whilst maximising the environmental benefits. Download the Government Bioenergy Strategy http://www.decc.gov.uk/

Generating energy from waste: risks and rewards

Date: 19 June 2012
Event Type: 1 day Seminar
Location: London

In the search for reliable and sustainable fuels, is it time to move energy recovery up the waste hierarchy? Energy from waste can provide a very substantial contribution to reaching the Government’s 2020 renewable energy targets. With just over 100 months until these targets come into force, recovered energy should be seen as an important investment in our future – not just an alternative to landfill.
