The Railway Technical Visit (UK) offers an opportunity to participate in site tours at Bombardier and Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station with an evening presentation at Rolls Royce. The site tours will focus on how each industry implement their energy conservation processes and how effective this is – the evening presentation will concentrate on Energy Conservation within the Engineering field.

Tram Train services have been successfully operating in Germany since the early 1990's. As the benefits and popularity grew over the following decade the Netherlands, France and many other European countries quickly followed suite. Britain has been planning its own Tram Train Trial for the last two years and as the project moves into its second phase the interest and support has never been greater.

This event will assist in improving the quality of investigations so that key lessons from investigations may be learnt and disseminated effectively. This will assist in the future reduction of waste from damaged trains and infrastructure, and in reducing the effects of travel disruption and transfer to other less efficient modes.
