A group of UK pharmaceuticals manufacturers have worked to deliver an accredited UK scheme for the introduction of Contractor Safety Passports. These are awarded following a two-day training course. The first day covers basic safe-working practices. The second covers topics specific to safety within our industry, including GMP.
The objectives are enhanced safety within the industry, together with reduced operating costs. Two major manufacturers have already announced adoption of a requirement that all visiting contractors hold the passport by end-2005. The courses are administered by the Safety Pass Alliance.
