Introduction
Welcome to our second newsletter for 2007.
In this issue:
Our joint committee continues to expand with IMechE members but it would be good to increase the IFST membership. Do you know of any interested persons who would join us to continue our food engineering promotion? Our next meeting is in September, please email process@imeche.org for more information.
The IMechE Food Engineer of the Year Award is becoming ever popular with undergraduates; the deadline for synopses was 14 September 2007. The £1000 prize is open to all research and development papers on food engineering. Please see below for further details.
We are considering running a seminar on ‘Food Rheolgy’, covering food products and their flow characteristics, later this year, the location is TBC. If you would be interested in attending, please contact Taz.
I trust you are coping with the ever-changing food market demands. Let us know your views.
