Award Conditions:

The premier Award of the IMechE for the best original paper published by the Institution during the preceding year. No medal will be awarded unless, in the opinion of the Trustee Board, the paper is deemed worthy of the award. Only one Gold Medal is awarded each year. If the prize-winning paper is the work of more than one author, the co-author receive a bronze replica.

Nominations are considered by the Trustee Board Awards Committee during April each year.
