Purpose:
Awards for IMechE Affiliate members undertaking group projects. To assist towards expenses to allow groups to:
- attend/participate in international conferences related to engineering, science and technology, which are relevant to their group project, or
- attend/participate in engineering, science and technology based projects/activities overseas, which are relevant to their group project.
Value:
Limited to a maximum of £500 per individual in each group. Limited to a maximum of 8 members per group.
Specific conditions:
- Applicants must be affiliate members of the Institution, studying an IMechE accredited degree programme.
Applications must be supported by three references:
- One who can provide an academic reference, which should state the academic achievements and potential academic achievements of all members of the group and how the group project activity will benefit each applicant academically.
- One who can provide a reference on the group project activity and how it will benefit each member within the group.
- One who can provide a personal reference for each member of the group.
(IMechE Prizes and Awards Department will request these reference).
Application Procedure:
Applications can be made throughout the year on the form titled
"Educational Awards Committee - Application for a Group Project Award".
