About the group project awards

Group projects are often integral to undergraduate engineering degrees. Affiliate members of the Institution can receive financial assistance for their group projects. The award can enable groups to attend or participate in international conferences related to engineering, science and technology, which are relevant to their group project. Alternatively, the funds can enable groups to attend or take part in engineering, science and technology based projects or activities overseas, which are relevant to their group project.

How much is the award worth?

The group project award is worth £250 per individual in each group. The group is limited to a maximum of 8 members.

Am I eligible?

• Applicants must be affiliate members of the Institution, studying an accredited degree programme
• Applications must be supported by three references:
  • One who can provide an academic reference, stating the academic achievements and potential academic achievements of all members of the group and how the group project activity will benefit each applicant academically.
  • One who can provide a reference on the group project activity and how it will benefit each member within the group.
  • One who can provide a personal reference for each member of the group.
