James Clayton Award


Purpose:

Awards to enable members to pursue advanced postgraduate studies or programmes of research.

Value:

Up to £1,000 (renewable annually for up to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress being made.)

Specific conditions:
  1. Applicants must hold an IMechE accredited degree or have satisfied the academic requirements for IMechE membership by other means and have had not less than 2 years acceptable professional training in mechanical engineering.
Applications must be supported by three references:

  • One who can vouch for the program, confirming acceptance and brief technical outline of course or research.

  • One who can vouch for the applicant's character and suitability for an IMechE award.
     
  • One who can state how an IMechE award will benefit the applicant's engineering development.

(IMechE Prizes and Awards Department will request these references.)

Application Procedure:

Applications can be made throughout the year on the form titled "Educational Awards Committee - Application for Financial Support".
