The purpose of the event is to bring together people with a specific interest in distributed control from across a range of application areas. The goal is to expose delegates to distributed control technologies, challenges and ideas from a range of application areas in order to synergistically develop this emerging field.

Driven predominantly by the environmental lobby, governments around the world have introduced legislation that is forcing aircraft manufacturers to seek increasingly fuel efficient designs. A number of diverse technologies are being developed that offer new solutions and the aim of the seminar is to present the current state of the art in the key enabling area of active flow control. Although the technologies are predominantly driven by the aerospace sector the themes covered will also be of interest to the marine and automotive transport sectors and the power generation industry.
