The Engineering in Medicine and Health Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is delighted to launch the 22nd Annual Medical Engineering Student Project Competition taking place on 23 June 2010. This competition is the foremost medical engineering student project competition in the UK and provides an opportunity for students across a wide variety of disciplines to present their work.
The 21st Annual Student Project Competition was the most successful so far with some incredibly exciting and innovative projects. Make sure you get your entry in for 2010!
The categories are as follows:
Vicon Prize for Best Project involving the Design or Development of a Medical Device (£500)
Open to recent graduates (2009), third/fourth year undergraduates and taught Masters degree students, who have completed or are working on a project involving the design or development of a medical device.
MediMaton Prize for Best Medical Engineering Recent PhD Thesis (£750)
Open to those who have graduated or passed between 2008 and 2010, and have completed a Medical Engineering PhD Thesis.
Corin Group Prize for Best Project Presentation (£500)
Awarded to the best presentation on the day.
To enter the competition, please submit a one page abstract (3 pages for the PhD prize), including illustrations, giving an overview of your project with a completed application form.
Entrants must be available to present their project at the competition finals on
Wednesday 23 June 2010.
The finals will take place at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London SW1H 9JJ.
