The Thomas Stephen Prizes (Serial 233/1) are funded from The General Fund.
Trust Conditions:
Bequest (£100) under the Will of the late Thomas Stephen.
Award Conditions:
Prizes awarded by the appropriate Divisional Committee to the authors of outstanding papers or for outstanding contributions or achievements in the Group's sphere of activity, provided the papers, contributions or achievements are of a sufficiently high standard to warrant the award of an IMechE prize.
Thomas Stephen Group Prizes may be awarded to non-Corporate Young Members or others under the age of 31 (Council Minute 45.2.1, 22 May 91).
The Manufacturing Industries Division prize is awarded in association with the Queen's Silver Jubilee Competition to the projects in the relevant fields which reach the National Final Day of the competition. If more than one project on a topic reaches the Final Day, that which progresses furthest in the competition will be awarded the Prize.
