The Manufacturing Industries Division has a total budget allocation of £1,350 for distribution  to recognise the achievements of engineers in the Division’s field of expertise. £1,000 of this total is allocated to the following three prizes, of which one or more can be chosen up to the £1,000 budget allocation. (NB No prize should be less than £100).
 

• Thatcher Brothers Prize (Serial 223) 
• A M Strickland Prize (Serial 239) 
• Joseph Whitworth Award (Serial 301)

The remaining £350 is allocated to:

• Donald Julius Groen Prize (Serial 215) - £250 
• Thomas Stephen Group Prize (Serial 233) - £100

The Division also makes nominations to the Trustee Board Awards Committee for the IMechE's Major Prizes and Awards:

• The James Clayton Prize
• The Thomas Hawksley Gold Medal
• IMechE Special Needs Award
• The Safety Award in Mechanical Engineering
• The George Stephenson Prize
• The James Watt International Medal (Awarded biennially - next award 2010)
