The IMechE Management Development Programme for Chartered Engineers The Chartered Management Institute has mapped the requirements for its Diploma in Management against the prior management learning undertaken by Chartered Engineers as part of UK-SPEC. The results of this exercise show that it is possible to exempt IMechE Chartered Engineers from as much as 50% of the full degree-level Diploma. This is why IMechE, in partnership with the Institute, is launching the IMechE Management Development Programme for Chartered Engineers. This involves an induction day and 4 training days over a six month period, resulting in the award of the Chartered Management Institute’s Diploma in Management. The programme also provides exemption from elements of the requirements for becoming a Chartered Manager.
The development programme consists of: Day 1 - Induction Day 2 - Developing Personnel and Personnel Performance Day 3 - Managing Financial and Non Financial Resources Day 4 - Managing Performance Day 5 - Principles of Project Management + Chartered Manager briefing Candidates will have access to the full range of on-line support services provided by the Chartered Management Institute’s Management Information Centre. On completion of the programme, candidates will be invited to join the Chartered Management Institute thus gaining professional recognition for their professional management expertise. They will also be entitled to register for Chartered Manager at a discounted rate.
The training will take place at 1 Birdcage Walk. Dates for the next course in 2007 are:
