The Virtual Library is a collection of electronic resources that IMechE members can access from their own desktops. You can search for papers, read full-text handbooks, download articles and access datasheets. The various databases that are available are described below.

The Virtual Library is accessed via the secure IMechE members’ area. If you haven't logged into the members area before, you'll need your membership number to register. Once you have logged in follow the link from the left hand menu to the Virtual Library. Provides access to over 350 industry-leading reference books. In particular core business and management books are offered to support CPD learning. Members can search, browse and view the complete contents of every book in the collection.

IMechE Proceedings

The Proceedings of the IMechE currently consist of 14 Journals covering the key mechanical engineering sub-disciplines. Members can browse the contents of the current issue of each journal or download the full-text articles.

IMechE Library Catalogue books/papers

Search the library collection. IMechE conference, seminar and Proceedings papers are abstracted back to 1847. Search by title, author, subject or keyword. Books and articles can to be posted out on loan or copies supplied. Please complete the enquiry form to request items from the library.
