Clifford S Steadman Prize


The Clifford S Steadman Prize (Serial 222) is funded from The General Trust Fund.

Trust Conditions:

Established in 1974 by Lt. Cdr. M S Steadman RN with a donation of £500 in memory of his late father Clifford S Steadman FIMechE who died in 1973 and who had been engaged in the design and production of automatic transmissions, heating, ventilating and air-conditioning of British motor cars.

Award Conditions:

Awarded, when appropriate, by the Board of the Automobile Division to the author(s) of the best paper published by IMechE in the preceding year on automobile heating, ventilation or air-conditioning or on automatic transmissions for automobiles or to the author of an invited lecture on any of these subjects.

Value of Award:

(No monetary value) - Certificate. Recipients of this prize can be nominated for the Crompton-Lanchester Medal (Serial 228) in competition with recipients of the Gresham Cooke Prize, Engineering applied to Agriculture Award, Starley Premium Award.
