[January 2008] It was a historic event for the aerospace industry on 25 October, as the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380 aircraft completed its’ first commercial flight from Singapore to Sydney. It was a particularly proud moment for the UK industry as over 400 UK companies are involved in the design and manufacture of this impressive aircraft. It is anticipated that the A380 programme (including its’ Rolls-Royce engines) could generate up to £26 billion of revenue for the UK aerospace industry.
