Scholarships and awards for undergraduates and apprentices

The Institution is committed to supporting the educational and development needs of today’s mechanical engineering undergraduates and apprentices.

The undergraduate and apprentice scholarships and awards offer assistance to students who are about to start or have already started on mechanical engineering degrees and apprenticeships accredited by the Institution.

With mechanical engineering very much an international discipline, the Institution is committed to helping undergraduates gain experience of working and studying in a different country. To this end, the awards include scholarships and grants for academic and industrial placements abroad.

The Institution enjoys excellent associations with some of the biggest names in the engineering industry. The current Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme includes awards sponsored by Amec Foster Wheeler - Clean Energy, Eaton and Land Rover who as part of the scholarship are offering a scholarship/award to a student to assist them with their accredited degree-level programmes.

Apprentice of the Year

The Apprentice of the Year Award was launched by the Institution to celebrate the achievements of our Apprentice Affiliate members, and the contribution they make to the engineering sector, industry and the wider economy. The winner will receive an educational grant of £1,500.
