The Safety & Reliability Group sponsors the Best Early-Career Researcher Paper/Poster prize at the biennial Advances in Risk and Reliability Technology Symposium (ARRTS).
The 19th ARTS prize was awarded to Philipp Thies, University of Exeter for his paper Assessing Load Regimes and Failure Modes of Marine Power Cables in Marine Energy
This years prize was awarded to Mariapia Lampis from Loughborough University for her paper Use of Bayesian Belief Networks for Fault Diagnostics on Dynamic Systems.
Mariapia's paper was chosen for the following reasons:
- The paper was presented in a clear and professional manner - projecting confidence
- She interacted well during the poster session and questions following her presentation
- The technical content of her paper was well developed
- She obviously understood her subject
