"Safe, efficient transport systems with less congestion and emissions."

On this page you'll find information about our activities and policies in the transport field. In due course, this page will contain information and links about the Institution's policy statements, media appearances, consultation responses, events and other activities around this key theme.

Copenhagen: our focus for 2009

A focus for 2009  will be planning our contributions at the United Nations Copenhagen Conference in December this year.  This momentous event will see global institutions coming together to discuss practical, deliverable plans addressing the energy, environment and transport challenges of climate change.

A pre-cursor to the Conference, Future Climate - Engineering Solutions, took place in September 2008.  The Institution is the UK representative for the Future Climate project.  We will be encouraging our members to get involved in preparing a UK Action Plan, and posting regular updates about the project throughout the year.

If you wish to register your interest in the project, please email energy@imeche.org.
