Stakeholder Pension Scheme Our Stakeholder Pension Scheme with Standard Life gives employees the opportunity to contribute any amount of their salary towards a pension fund. The Institution will match employee contributions up to 10% of their gross pensionable salary.
Life Assurance
All employees are automatically covered for life assurance worth three times their annual salary in the event of death in service.

BUPA Private Medical Insurance
A taxable benefit for which single cover is paid for by the Institution. Members will also have access to BUPA Positive Health; an online programme dedicated to helping you take small positive steps to improve your health and well-being.
Occupational Health Assessments
The Institution will arrange and finance Occupational Health Assessments for employees as required.

Work/Life Balance
Working Hours
Employees are contracted to work a 36.25 hour week, Monday to Friday.
Flexible Working
The Institution is committed to allowing staff to work as flexibly as possible within the demands of the business. Employees currently enjoy home-working, compressed hours and job sharing.
Annual Leave
Employees are entitled to a minimum of 26 days Annual Leave, exclusive of public bank holidays. This annual allowance will increase based on your length of service. The holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December. 1 Birdcage Walk is also closed over Christmas and the New Year, over which time employees receive an additional Institution Day.

The Institution’s provision of sick pay and paid maternity/paternity leave currently exceeds the government statutory payments.

Annual Personal Development and Review Plan (PDRP)
The Annual Personal Development and Review Plan (PDRP) gives employees a chance to review their performance at work and identify future development needs.
Training and Development
As an Investor in People, we encourage all employees to learn and develop; training is offered individually, through our annual Corporate Training Plan and also through sponsored study.
Professional Membership Subscription
As an employee of the Institution, you are entitled to free membership to the Institution. In addition to this, we will, as necessary, finance employees for one relevant subscription to a membership body.
Added Benefits Season Ticket Loan All employees are entitled to an interest free Season Ticket Loan for travel to work after 4 weeks service, repayable via monthly deductions from your salary over a 12 month period.
Cycle to Work Scheme As an alternative to public transport, the Institution runs a cycle hire scheme allowing employees to save up to 40% on the cost of a bicycle and equipment over a 12 month period, with an option to purchase the bike for one additional month’s payment. |
