What are the Environmental Issues Awards?

As part of its vision of improving the world through engineering, the Institution promotes innovation for the environment which sustains economic growth whilst responding to climate change and the depletion of natural resources. The Institution is committed to help members gain the education they need to work effectively on projects affecting the environment. It assists with funding for educational programmes dealing with environmental issues or to support environmental project work.

How much are the awards worth?

Up to £1,000

Am I eligible?

Applicants for these awards must:

  • be members of the Institution.
  • hold a degree accredited by the Institution.
  • be supported by three references:
    • One who can vouch for the programme, confirming acceptance and giving a brief outline of what criteria the applicant had to fulfil.
    • One who can vouch for the applicant's character and suitability for this award.
    • One who can state how this award will benefit the applicant's engineering development.
