Equality and Diversity Steering group

The Equality and Diversity Steering Group (EDSG) was established in March 2010 to provide guidance and advice to the Trustee Board on matters related to Equality and Diversity. The Steering Group also works to deliver specific activities as agreed with the Trustee Board.

Prime objectives of the Steering Group

• Encourage more people from diverse backgrounds to engage with the Institution.

• Identify and address any perceived barriers within the Institution.

• Tender advice and make recommendations to the Trustee Board concerning the direction and strategy of the Institution in relation to Equality and Diversity (member only).

• Develop and support the implementation of the IMechE’s Equality and Diversity programme in line with the Institution’s Strategic Objectives.
