Affiliate Membership is suitable for students studying an appropriate degree or those on an apprenticeship scheme.

How to apply

To apply for Affiliate Membership, please complete an application form (available in both Word and PDF formats). Your original signature is required on the application form.   Please post your completed application form, along with any supporting documentation required, to:

Membership fees

There is no cost to join as an Affiliate if you are an undergraduate student on an Engineering degree or on an engineering apprenticeship. Whilst you are studying as an undergraduate you will receive free Affiliate membership of IMechE.

After graduating you will be ready to become an Associate member of IMechE, and benefit from the post nominals 'AMIMechE' after your name, demonstrating commitment to your developing career. If you sign up as an Associate the same year as graduating, you will be eligible for 12 months free membership.
