Professional Development Standards Committee Roles

The Professional Development Standards Committee (PDSC) is the body which oversees the accreditation of all MPDS schemes and works on all policy and strategy associated with this area, and has vacancies for two new Young Members. Members of the PDSC carry out upwards of 100 company accreditation visits each year.

Young Members are expected to come to four PDSC meetings a year at IMechE headquarters in Birdcage Walk, and will have the opportunity to go on accreditation visits to other companies in an observatory capacity.

The role of the Young Members on the committee is to give valued perspective of what it is like to be working towards registration through the MPDS route, so any applicants for these posts must be
enrolled on an accredited MPDS scheme. As Young Members are necessarily not yet professionally registered, there are no voting rights associated with this role.
